Centre for Immigrant Research Celebrates Contributions of Research Interns and Volunteers

CALGARY — On May 21, the TIES Centre forImmigrant Research hosted a special appreciation gathering to recognize thevital contributions of its research interns and volunteers.
Over the past several months, thistalented cohort of early-career researchers has played a pivotal role inadvancing community-based, evidence-informed initiatives. Their work has deeplyexplored the complexities of newcomer experiences, economic integration,language acquisition, mental wellbeing, and community development.
Working side-by-side with theCentre’s core research team, these dedicated individuals contributed tocomprehensive literature reviews, qualitative data analysis, communityengagement, knowledge mobilization, and policy-informed research.
The event was attended by theentire Centre staff, who gathered to honor the dedication, creativity, andcommitment each individual brought to the team's mission.
A key highlight of the meeting wasthe formal presentation of Certificates of Completion to the internship cohort.The certificates were proudly presented by the Centre's leadership team: KaterinaPalova, Director of Research & Program Strategy, Kreisha Hilario,Manager of the Centre for Immigrant Research, and Dr. Fatemeh Kazemi,Senior Researcher
The presentations marked amilestone in the collaborative journey shared between the leadership, staff,and emerging researchers and interns.

The impact of this cohort's hardwork will soon extend well beyond the walls of the Centre. The TIES Centre forImmigrant Research is excited to announce that several publicationsdeveloped through these collaborations will be released in the coming weeks.
These upcoming reports will notonly showcase the impressive capabilities of these emerging researchers butwill also provide actionable insights to advance community-based immigrantresearch and policy-making in Canada.
